Completeness score

Barely started

0 of 51 weighted points · weighted by ranking impact

Fix next

  1. 5Choose the single most accurate primary category — it is the strongest relevance signal you control.
  2. 5Make NAP identical across your site and all directories — inconsistency drags ranking.
  3. 5Add every service under your categories with a keyword-rich description — most profiles leave this blank.
  4. 5Ask every happy customer for a review — volume and recency relative to competitors both matter.
  5. 4Add every additional category you genuinely qualify for to widen the queries you can rank for.

Ranked by impact. The number is each item’s ranking weight (1–5).

How to use it

  1. 1Work through the checklist and tick every item your profile already has in place.
  2. 2Watch your completeness score update, weighted by how much each field actually influences local ranking.
  3. 3Read the prioritised “fix next” list — it surfaces the highest-impact gaps first, not just the easiest.
  4. 4Fix them in your Google Business Profile, then come back and re-score to confirm.

Why it matters

Google rewards profiles that give it the most accurate, complete information — categories, services, photos, reviews and consistent NAP all feed relevance, distance and prominence. A profile left at the default setup quietly forfeits ranking to competitors who filled theirs out. This scorer turns “is my profile good?” into a concrete, ordered to-do list.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a Google Business Profile “complete”?
Beyond the basics, a complete profile has the right primary and secondary categories, a full services list with descriptions, real photos, a written business description, correct hours, a consistent name-address-phone, and a steady flow of reviews with replies. Each of these is a signal Google reads.
Which profile fields matter most for ranking?
Primary category, a complete services list, review quantity and recency, and NAP consistency carry the most weight for most businesses. Photos, description and Q&A matter too but are secondary. This tool weights the checklist accordingly.
Is a higher score a guarantee of ranking first?
No — ranking also depends on distance from the searcher and your broader prominence, including reviews and links. But completeness is the part you fully control, and closing these gaps is almost always the fastest local-SEO improvement available to you.
Does this tool connect to my Google account?
No. It is a self-assessment checklist that runs entirely in your browser — nothing connects to Google and nothing you tick is saved or sent anywhere.
